"I am deeply grateful to have worked with Vicki at different stages in my life, and each time Vicki has helped guide me to opportunities and achievements that are truly meaningful and fulfilling. Vicki helps me step back and gain perspective on what is most important and what ‘self-imposed’ barriers might be in my way. She coaches me to be bold, seeing life through a positive lens while remaining focused on what I most value.
Vicki’s wise, caring, and objective counsel has been instrumental in helping me find my dream job, be a more effective leader and achieve work/life balance as a busy executive and single parent. Vicki helps me have meaningful, loving relationships with my daughters and a wonderful relationship with my life partner. I know there will be challenges along the way but with Vicki by my side I have confidence that I can meet those challenges and more! Vicki is simply an awesome ‘gift to the world’ and I encourage anyone who aspires to fulfill their life’s dreams to work with her."

Case Study: Leadership Program
Circumstance
An owner of a fitness studio was questioning if she wanted to even continue with her business. She had worked so hard to build and grow the business, but when COVID hit in 2020, she felt unsure of what she wanted to do. She often felt inadequate in reaching her staff and questioned if she was even cut out to be a leader. She saw this program as an opportunity to discover what she might not be seeing in terms of how to improve her leadership.
Process
2 monthly group calls, as well as a handful of 1-to-1 calls per month, diving into the competencies as each was introduced.
Outcome
1. What tangible value are you getting from these sessions?
“The program is live, in the moment. As I’m learning a distinction, I am able to apply it immediately to what I’m dealing with in my life. So, the practical jumps right over the theory and is put into use immediately. The combination of group discussion with set topics and one-on-one coaching with Vicki creates a powerful program that instills excellence in leadership and communication.”
2. What do you notice about changes in your leadership style and capabilities?
“I’m so much more aware of my own feelings and instinctive reactions in different situations. Rather than react to a conflict, I can respond in a powerful way that moves the situation forward or dissolves a conflict where everyone feels heard. Certainly, my communication skills have improved and my relationship with my team is more open and authentic.”
3. What changes do you notice in your effectiveness, in the organization, or in the organization’s effectiveness as a result of the work you are doing?
“The easy things to deal with are always easy. What this course is bringing to my life is the ability to deal with challenges in an effective way where people feel heard, and we can resolve situations and move forward. I think and act with more clarity and purpose. By listening deeper, understanding, and working with the distinctions, I can lead challenging situations to a powerful result. I am playing a bigger game in my life, with more confidence to succeed.”

"After another 18 months of working with Vicki, I can honestly say that where I am now makes where I was two years ago seem like a bad dream. Even with having another child, changing job duties again to take on more responsibility, and managing through a global pandemic, I wake up with a smile on my face ready to tackle the challenges of the day. There is nothing anymore that is too much for me to handle on either a personal or professional basis and I’m excited to see where the journey takes me.
I recommend Vicki to everyone in my life and network and would encourage anyone feeling even the slightest bit lost or overwhelmed to reach out to Vicki immediately – this will not be something you regret."

"Vicki has challenged me to become a higher-level leader. She has helped me realize that I surrender my power as a leader when I perpetuate a position of being a victim in situations of conflict. I am now on my way to regaining my power and influence and am a more authentic, confident servant leader."

A 40-something female film director/producer was presenting herself to the world as independent, strong, and “having it all together”, but inside she was angry, isolated, and lonely. She was constantly disappointed by people, over-eating, over-spending, and dying for more intimacy with family and friends. The persona of “having it all together” was creating more isolation and loneliness, and her overspending as a reward for hard work and compensation for being miserable only left her feeling emptier.
Process
A 12-month program combining breakthrough sessions, small group Zoom sessions, and monthly 1-to-1 coaching sessions.
Outcome
“I am more in control of my actions and am consciously making choices that align with the life that I want. I took a stand with my career and decided to work on my own projects, and work with people I admire, respect, and enjoy being around. Part of that was making the declaration that I’d no longer take on ad agency producer work, which had become untenable by August 2017 and had me living in almost a PTSD-like fear for a few months after that. The result has been a partnership with my friend and colleague to work production-side with him on film and video projects, which has brought me more enjoyment and income (I actually work fewer hours and make the same amount of money!), as well as more freedom to pursue my personal projects. I was also suffering from terrible indigestion and unexplained weight gain; I took that on with a food lifestyle program which I’ve been consistent with for 2 years and have lost about 60-70lbs. I feel fantastic!
I have a new appreciation for all that I have here in Vancouver.”

"I started working with Vicki because I saw a great opportunity to strengthen our team and to create a better awareness of each other's strengths. I really liked how she projected a positive framework from which to develop a greater sense of team and individual and collective strengths. This is the opposite of coming in as ‘You're broken, we need to fix you’, as so many consultants do.
Vicki is very positive and affirming, focusing on your current strengths and opportunities for growth and development. She was so optimistic and uplifting that our people were really excited for the second part of her training."

"Vicki is an extremely gifted listener and can discern nuances and hear between the lines. She is insightful and courageous enough to ask the necessary questions for you to advance. Sometimes you're unconscious of things, other times you are aware of them but haven't wanted to name them. Either way, Vicki helps you address it."

"I have known and worked with Vicki on and off over the past 35 years. Each time we have worked together, I have been able to overcome whatever challenge I was facing and move forward in my life with clarity, power, and confidence. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I know how important it is to keep my slate clean. Vicki is who I go to when I want or need to learn and grow.
My most recent challenge has probably been my hardest by far. Several years ago, my husband began to experience some very serious health issues. In my calls with Vicki, she kept observing how hard I am on myself. This led to some conversations about self-compassion – a concept I had never considered. My growth in this area alone has been a game-changer for me in what I am currently dealing with. My husband – at just 63 years old – has now just been diagnosed with early-onset dementia. Had this happened before discovering how to have self-compassion, I can only imagine what a state I would be in. Not only has this learning helped me get through all the challenges we have been facing, but it has also greatly impacted my practice and benefited my clients. It has been my saving grace. Investing in coaching is an investment in myself, my family, and my business.
For a coach who will walk with you through whatever you are facing and call you out (in a gentle, loving, and respectful way) when that is what you need, I highly recommend Vicki Fenn."

"I am so fortunate to have been able to work with Vicki for the past 12 months. She has been able to help me tap into my strengths and identify blind spots. Her style and ability to actively listen have been very effective in helping me to refocus some of my energies and reframe my mindset to see situations in a different light so I can respond and lead more effectively. My return on investment and time spent with her have been significant. I highly recommend working with Vicki as a trusted advisor and coach!"

"Facing dramatic growth in our operations with a very diverse team from all kinds of ethnic, social, and professional backgrounds, I faced a dilemma trying to fathom how to bring this new group together to sync. In comes Vicki, who helped us get to know ourselves better through personal evaluations, understanding what makes us tick under various conditions. The icing on the cake was bringing us all together during a three-day workshop. Through many exercises and discussions, we got to know each other and how to best communicate toward a common goal. The learnings will take us well beyond our little group and help us manage our internal and external relationships as we grow.
For my career, I have gone through various company-imposed self-evaluations, but none ever brought the learnings into context or, let alone even provided feedback. This last journey with Vicki was, however, an eye-opener. Vicki is a fantastic person; dedicated, passionate, composed, calm, direct, friendly, and fun to work with. She truly made this an enjoyable experience for us all. Thank you, Vicki."

"I invite you to consider engaging in the services of Vicki Fenn; I did, and her work made a strong contribution to the success of my department. I knew of Vicki's services while I was Director of Human Resources at BC Hydro, and heard really positive things about the results she had produced with some of my colleagues. I decided to contact her in the spring of 2008 for assistance with a project in my new role as Vice President, Human Resources with BC Lotteries Corporation.
I engaged Vicki to conduct a study for us to clarify the needs and concerns of our customers. Vicki was proactive in helping us to clearly identify our objectives and in determining the best methodology for the study. She listened to our concerns, provided valuable guidance for the process, and was effective in developing a plan of action which satisfied our needs.
I was very pleased with the work Vicki has done for us. In conducting the interviews, she provided a safe forum for people to candidly voice their concerns, which not only provided us with the feedback we needed but also offered our customers and staff the opportunity to be heard and validated. She conducted herself professionally, and not only provided comprehensive reports which contained valuable feedback for our team, but she also offered support to us in terms of how to accept and use the feedback in helpful ways. I am pleased to recommend Vicki's services."
